As a young man, his expertise in telecoms took Richard to the remote parts of Papua New Guinea and the jungles of Borneo. In later years, other worldwide adventures included working under armed guard during a Cambodian election. By contrast, after retirement he has acted as a funeral celebrant in leafy Buckinghamshire. Richard has now combined his life experiences and perceptions by writing fiction.
Richard’s debut novel The Evolution of Charlie K is a powerful story set in the 1960s, that explores societal life in a primitive Papua New Guinea and the culture of violence, sex and racism in America.
Richard is currently working on a sequel to Charlie K and has many other significant life experiences that will be drawn on as he adds to his catalogue of work.
